It’s time for a curtain call!

It’s time for a curtain call. After much thought and soul-searching, I’ve decided to step away from the influencer side of the western fashion industry. Let me be honest, the glitter and glamour often mask a darker reality: a stage rife with drama, negativity, and, at times, a sense of hollowness that just didn’t resonate with me anymore. I don’t want to be affiliated with a “market” that is full of drama and toxicity. 

Don’t get me wrong, the influencer community has brought me incredible experiences and connections. But somewhere along the line, the focus shifted from authenticity and genuine connection to manufactured perfection and constant competition. The pressure to curate a flawless online persona, engage in manufactured controversies, and navigate an often toxic environment became incompatible with my desire to create something more meaningful. I’m a genuine person and refuse to change anything about myself just to get followers. I may not have all of the perfect opportunities given to me due to taking apart my morals and I am ok with that. I’m not going to be controversial or seek attention on social media. I choose to depart from being a “western influencer” because the name has been tarnished due to those that abuse the industry. 

That’s why I’m stepping onto a new stage: the written word. Instead of posing for pictures and crafting captions, I’m picking up my pen and crafting articles. I’m trading my curling iron and lipstick for my iPad and keyboard. My desire is to inspire and connect with readers through the power of language, not likes and comments. I want to be known for my articles and marketing in the western industry, not competing for a clothing gig with a big brand. I’m exhausted from it all and done. 

This shift isn’t just about escaping the negativity. It’s about embracing a passion I’ve long held: using words to paint pictures, spark conversations, and leave a lasting impact. Instead of fleeting trends and sponsored posts, I want to delve into topics that matter, share unique perspectives, and ignite minds.

This journey won’t be easy. Building an audience through writing takes dedication, consistency, and a whole lot of passion. But the prospect of connecting with readers on a deeper level, through genuine storytelling and thoughtful analysis, is far more fulfilling than the superficiality of the influencer world.
